      • Five new respiratory specimens were submitted for laboratory testing during week 5, and a total of three were positive, including one for 2009 influenza A(H1N1), one for seasonal influenza AH3, and one for influenza B. Two were negative.


      Week 6: Local
      • Influenza-like illness and acute respiratory illness were similar or slightly increased compared to the previous week at 0.2% and 2.2% of patient visits, respectively.
      • Pneumonia and influenza-related deaths accounted for 9.3% of deaths, which was below the epidemic threshold of 13.1% for week 6.
      • Ten new respiratory specimens were submitted for laboratory testing during week 6 and all were negative.

            • Eleven new respiratory specimens were submitted for laboratory testing during week 9, and a total of nine were positive, including five for seasonal influenza AH3, one for 2009 influenza A (H1N1), and three for influenza B. Two were negative.

            For week 9 (2/26/12–3/03/12), 10.1% of all deaths recorded in NH were reported as due to P&I. This is below the epidemic threshold for week 9 (13.6%).

            week at 0.1% and 2.3% of patient visits, respectively.
            • Pneumonia and influenza-related deaths accounted for 10.2% of deaths, which was

            and a total of seven were positive, including four for seasonal influenza AH3, one for
            2009 influenza A (H1N1), and two for influenza B. Three were negative.

            The overall state student absenteeism for ILI rate was 0.1% for the week based on 70
            (11%) schools reporting students absent due to ILI.
