The percentage of total emergency department visits attributed to the ?fever/flu? syndrome category has remained stable during the past three weeks after decreasing from a seven week period of remaining just below 5% statewide.
The percentage of outpatient visits with influenza-like illness (% ILI) has decreased during the past two weeks. The percent ILI has remained below 2% during the entire 2011-2012 influenza season.
The number of statewide pneumonia admissions has decreased during the past four weeks after remaining above 350 pneumonia admissions during the previous two weeks. This current level of pneumonia admissions represents approximately 4% of the total statewide hospital admissions.
A total of 251 persons hospitalized with influenza-associated illness have been reported to date: 45 Type A (H3N2), 13 Type A (2009 H1N1), 158 Type A unspecified, and 35 Type B.
