    An outbreak of anthrax has killed 30 Roan antelopes in the Kruger National Park, it said on Tuesday.

    Spokesman William Mabasa said the carcasses were found at the weekend in an enclosure created for breeding...

    Virus kills 30 Kruger hippos


    Thirty hippos have been killed by a bacterial virus in the Kruger National Park (KNP), the SA National Parks (SANParks) said on Monday.

    SANParks said an anthrax outbreak was identified in late August and post mortem results confirmed that most of the dead hippo were infected.

    The carcasses were discovered along the Letaba and Olifants rivers...

      KwaZulu-Natal - A serious outbreak of the highly contagious wildlife disease anthrax has wiped out nearly 50 percent of the rare roan antelope population and scores of hippos in the Kruger National Park.

      This is the eighth major outbreak of the disease since the early 1960s in the country?s flagship national park...
