in East Asia H3 had been dominant but is decreasing since week 30, while Mx=H1N1pdm2009
is increasing. So it's unclear what USA,Europe will get - probably both.
If we could choose now, what would we prefer ?
9 (!) old H1N1 viruses detected.
7 in Jamaica, 1 in Bolivia, 1 in Poland
it will be interesting to see where the Jamaica viruses came from, whether they survived
summer in Jamaica . Will we see old H1N1 coming back ?
(unlikely IMO, Jamaica is a sink of human flu-evolution, East Asia(India ?) is the source)
because of the year-change, it's easier to handle 2013 separately later

downloading from flunet, I created the file fnalc, containing 265284=162+768+6888+8736

H1N1,H3N2,H1N1pdm)(****),H5N1,total A,total B
who wants it ? (took me ~ 4hours in total)
ahh, I wished I had included the B-lineage which was also available for some countries and years
here they also seem to have time-series: http://www.who.int/influenza/gisrs_l.../en/index.html
but I only get errors:
Client found response content type of '', but expected 'text/xml'.
The request failed with an empty response.
Server Error in '/GAReports' Application.
China is having a H1 wave now.
After they had H3 for almost one year with little interruption.
Well, China is big and locally they may just have had one
or two waves lasting ~10 weeks, as usual
China, weeks 1..14

I updated my file fnalk3 with 144 countries and weekly sample counts for 18 years for some countries. (week 20,2013)
[attached as fnalk3.gz, once the first person view or downloads it, I add some
I looked at the charts, how H1 and H3 cocirculate and I thought that we need more detailed
They should issue flu-sample-certificates with age, gender, exact location (city or coordinates),
day, outcome (serotype or negative), severety of infection, secondary conditions.
It should be possible with not so much effort.
Often the data exists in the labs, but WHO at flunet only wants the counts, so the details are stripped.
E.g. CDC has the counts for the 10 regions and China has it at least for N-, and S.- China bur
probably also splitted by province. South Africa looks as if the country were bipartite, fluwise.
Countries like USA,China are too big to throw everything in one pot, to just list the
sum only. E.g. there could be a H1-wave in one part of the country and a H3 wave in another,
the counts would not show this.
1012 entries = 5+19*53 (last 33 entries of 2013 are zero)
1. old H1
5. all A
6. all B
10. samples received (-2012)
11. samples processed (-2012)
9. spread-code (-2012)
1: no activity
the country-urls are long and contain many cryptic signs, this could be because WHO doesn't want
them to be posted here and the links will not work long ?!?
yes, indeed. The USA link no longer works after ~5 minutes and an error message
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings
for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely
(for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines,
please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root
directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode"
attribute set to "Off".
and a description to make urls follows
maybe it's possible to post working links
...trying to figure it out ...
well, that's only a method to modify the error-message
so you'll probably have to go to "select a country" each time,
select the country, wait some seconds
