S. Faridabad: Given the increasing cases of swine flu in the district, its Monitoring the World Health Organisation (WHO) will also. Meanwhile, deputy civil surgeon Dr Ramesh said on Tuesday 3 new positive cases of swine flu have surfaced. In all, 107 of these patients has been positive. He said the change in the weather is expected to decrease in swine flu cases.

Swine flu claimed the life of 26-year-old man at Christian Medical College and Hospital on Sunday night. District epidemiologist Dr Anil Verma said the patient was undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past one week, and had been put on ventilator support. He said the patient was suffering from fever with cough and respiratory problems.
Dr Verma said a total of 15 deaths due to swine flu were reported form Ludhiana, and of these seven persons belonged to the district.

Swine flu patient dies in PGI
A swine flu patient from the district reportedly died in PGI Chandigarh late Wednesday. Santosh Kumari of Thwana village was admitted in Chritstian Ledical [sic] College and Hospital since February 20.
On Wednesday, she was shifted to the PGI, where she died around midnight. Her son Jiwan Kumar confirmed that his mother had died of swine flu, however the district health authorities chose to present a different story.

Himachal flu death A 53-year-old person identified as Jagat Ram from Chopal area of Shimla district died of Swine Flu at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH) on Wednesday. This was fifth swine flu death at IGMCH while two patients had died at PGI Chandigarh.
