84% positive for influenza; majority A/H3 (State Public Health Laboratory)
CDC has antigenically characterized ten isolates so far this influenza season from Missouri: Nine were B/WISCONSIN/01/2010-LIKE and one was A/Victoria/361/2011-LIKE (H3N2) GP. Both the influenza A (H3N2) component and the influenza B component are in the 2012-2013 influenza vaccine for the Northern Hemisphere.
No new outbreaks; total 3
3 new school closures; total 10
Hospitalizations: All ages showed a decrease. The 0-4 year age group decreased to 3.89%, the 5-14 year age group decreased to 1.76%, the 15-64 year age group decreased to 2.59%, and the 65 and older age group decreased to 6.94%.
P&I deaths still below last year at this time.
