    Abstract

The recent emergence of influenza A (H7N9) emphasizes the need for its rapid detection. While commercial nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs) are commonly used to detect seasonal influenza, this study demonstrates the analytical sensitivity of commercial assays is highly variable compared to CDC-based in-house NAATs for the detection of H7N9.
