Greene Co. confirms 6 whooping cough cases

GREENE COUNTY —

Six cases of whooping cough have been confirmed in Greene County.

The cases were confirmed in the past couple of days, according to the Greene County Combined Health District. They are the latest to spur concerns of an outbreak in the region.

Last week Dayton Children’s Hospital issued a statement after it saw 13 children diagnosed with whooping cough or pertussis in just 10 days. The hospital asked the public to be on alert for the highly contagious disease...

Clark: 11 whooping cough cases since Friday

CLARK COUNTY —

Whooping cough is once again making its mark across the Miami Valley, with Clark County officials reporting 11 cases this week.

Cases of whooping cough, known medically as pertussis, have been reported in counties including Montgomery, Greene and Clark. The disease is caused by bacteria and is very contagious, according to health officials. Whooping cough outbreak closes local health center

Health officials are investigating multiple cases of whooping cought in what is being described as a community outbreak in Clark County.
