Patna: The Patna High Court on Thursday asked the health department to file a detailed report on action taken to contain encephalitis in Bihar.

A division bench comprising Justice T. Meena Kumari and Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh passed the order on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by one Dhirendra Kumar last year.

In the petition, Kumar had alleged that scores of children died in Gaya and other parts of the state due to outbreak of encephalitis and the state government had done nothing to contain the disease.
