Week 4:
• Influenza-like illness and acute respiratory illness were the same or slightly increased compared to the previous week at 0.4% and 3.0% of patient visits, respectively.
• Pneumonia and influenza-related deaths accounted for 10.5% of deaths, which was above the epidemic threshold of 9.4% for week 4.
• Thirty new respiratory specimens were submitted for laboratory testing during week 4.Eight were positive for influenza A (H3), three were positive for 2009 influenza A (H1N1),and one was positive for influenza B. Sixteen were negative and two were rejected.
