Week 4:
• There were 10 additional hospitalizations reported during the most recent week, bringing the cumulative total to 86 hospitalizations from 16 counties.
• Influenza-Like Illness reported by Kaiser Permanente for the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area increased from 0.8% to 1.2%. Influenza-like illness reported by Mesa County increased from 0.1% to 0.2%.
• Sentinel hospital labs (18/18 reporting) tested 490 specimens and provisionally 9.4% were positive (compared to 8.1% the previous week).
• For the most recent week, 23 additional specimens (out of 24 submitted) tested positive for influenza by PCR at the state laboratory. Cumulatively, 297 (96%) of 308 PCR positive specimens have subtyped as H3, 9 (3%) as 2009 H1N1, and 2 (1%) have confirmed as type B.
• No outbreaks were reported during the most recent week.
