Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

I feel that it's all because of these advertisements which you see on webpages.
They added tools so to automatically execute scripts or foreign
programs so to display more flashing and moving advertisements
    and more tricks.
Do we really need this ? I want to control my computer,
    I don't want to execute other's programs.
    Why is that needed ?
Aren't there secure browsers and operating systems where this
    won't happen

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

the site i posted above has lots of information on this subject they also have people from some of the top software/cyber sercurity people working to address these many issues. they also track on a daily basis major attacks over the internet.

they also have a link to an online univerisity which i have been trying to get my son to enroll into for over two years now. its managed by employees from the top 36 companys working in this field.

I have found two sites sofar with online course neither are the one im looking for.but i will keep diggingfor it.what i found sofar is mainly for maleware/virius.

they have known for years who are behind these types of attacks and track them realtime.

I had to go out to work for a bit, this thread gives some insite as to what your really up against.

25 February 2010 - "Microsoft has won a court-issued take-down order against scores of domains associated with controlling the spam-spewing Waledac botnet. The software giant's order allows the temporary cut-off of traffic to -277- Internet domains that form command and control nodes for the network of compromised machines. Infected (zombie) machines are programmed to regularly poll these control points for instructions and spam templates. Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

There is a big difference in the person who is trying to take down FT and the rest of us....(yes, I am a part of "us") While we all do what we can for our families, communities and for anyone who finds wisdom in the many posts added each day from around the world, the hacker's only job is to try to stop the good works of the people here trying to help. And if you can keep us down for an hour you have done nothing, for we will be back. The dedication to keeping people informed is bigger than the hate or boredom that moves the hackers. Keep up the good work FluTrackers. We depend on you!!

Re: Continuing Attempts to Thwart FluTrackers

              Thanks Cindie.

I do not know if we are under attack now. I will have to call the server company. We have 4 processors on the server working 24/7. It takes a huge amount of requests to the server to overload it and take us down. We usually operate fine during one of these attacks. Last year we did not realize for months that someone had been initiating denial of service attacks.

Someone did try to get the password to the server again, earlier this morning, but they were stopped after only 5 attempts.

Evidently someone does not want us to succeed.

We are more than this site. We are a movement. Information power in the hands of the people.

We will activate one of our other websites and continue on if we are taken offline.

We are starting our own podcasts this week. We have you tube accounts, and blog radio accounts.

So unless we lose all electricity in the world.

We will be online, somewhere, disseminating information.

              Thanks to everyone!

Apparently someone has hacked into the World Health Organization's Twitter account and is putting ads there.

Not so funny since this account is used to alert the world to serious disease issues.

This account has 47,718 followers and is listed by 2,091 groups.

I emailed WHO and they thank FluTrackers for alerting them to the situation and they are working to resolve it.

I did a Twitter search on the username that the bogus WHO tweets are attributed to and see someone warning yesterday not to click on links in those WHO tweets. And it looks like it is happening to other accounts from some other confusion I saw.

As a matter of fact Effect Measure is off twitter because their account was hacked 2 weeks ago.

China's links tonight are full of computer threats. My new anti-virus indicates 5 threats for Xinhua (news xihuanet) on all their links (Heuristic viruses), English People Daily 2 threats, Chinaglobal times 2...

It might be a good idea to review your anti-virus and firewall software before attempt China sites.
