Louisiana 2012-13 Season: Weeks 47-16 (One New Pediatric Death; Total Two)
Week 47: influenza-like illness increased slightly in Louisiana. Based on data reported from sentinel laboratories, 21.2% of samples were positive for influenza. The percent of positive samples continues to increase. All samples submitted to CDC from Louisiana for subtyping have been the H3 virus that matches the component of the 2012-2013 Northern Hemisphere.

Influenza-like illness remained stable in Louisiana. There was an increase in the tests reported from sentinel laboratories this week but the percent positive (19.7) slightly decreased. All samples submitted to CDC from Louisiana for subtyping have been the H3 virus that matches the component of the 2012-2013 Northern Hemisphere.
