The first person to die from swine flu in the area was a 25 year old mom of four who had no underlying health problems.

According to Alberta Health, there are now 1,562 cases of H1N1 in the province, nearly 600 of them in the Calgary area.

There have been 15 new cases in Calgary identified since Friday.
