Two more Iowans die of H1N1 flu

Two more Iowans have died of H1N1 flu, the state health department announced today.
The unidentified victims were described as adults with other health issues. They were from Benton and Woodbury counties. Their ages, genders and dates of death were not disclosed.
The state has now reported 38 deaths and more than 700 hospitalizations from the new virus, which appeared last spring.
Although an autumn wave of illnesses has waned in recent weeks, authorities say another wave could hit in January or February, and they recommend that Iowans get vaccinated. Vaccine supplies, which were tight, have loosened to the point where all Iowans have been declared eligible. People are urged to contact their county health departments to determine where vaccine is being offered.
