  • Mat-Su students eligible for free H1N1 vaccinations (at 1 school on Saturday)

    Friday, November 13, 2009

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Students in the Mat-Su Valley will get a chance to get an H1N1 swine flu vaccine this weekend, in the first of three vaccination clinics for students.

Vaccines will be available for Mat-Su School District students from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Colony High School.

Students need to have a parent or guardian present but do not need to bring shot records. That information is in students? records.

Two more clinics will be held at Colony High on Nov. 21 and Dec. 12. The Mat-Su Public Health Clinic will hold mass vaccinations for the general public at a later date.

There are 5 high schools in the district - one about 85 miles away from this vaccination site. The furtherest grade school is about 100 miles away.

The vaccination may be free, but for some the gas bill may be a major cosideration.
