Addition in number of cases
~50% positive for influenza (week 4): mainly A/H3, increase in 2009 A/H1N1
~45% positive for influenza (week 5): mainly A/H3, no influenza B detected (detected again 2/13/11)
ILI: 2.8% (week 6)
Week 7:
ILI: 4.4%
~50% positive for influenza in week 6 (2009 A/H1N1 appears evenly divided with A/H3) NOTE: Week 7 labs still coming in; appears A/H3 is predominant
Number of cases have been about 140 each for weeks 5, 6, 7
Week 8:
ILI is slightly decreased from week 7. Weeks 8 & 9 are ~2.5% ILI
~48% positive for influenza (A/H3 seems predominant)
Number of cases decreased in week 8
Week: 11
ILI: 2.2%
~47% positive for influenza (about the same proportion of A/H3 and A/2009 H1N1; little to no B)
Number of cases appear to increase from week 10 to week 11.
Week 15:
ILI: 1.2%
Number of cases decreasing and low
No new labs since week 12, although Rapid Influenza Diagnostic Test Results still positive for A and B.
Re: Alaska 2010-2011 Season: Weeks 40-19 (Spike in ILI)
Week 19:
Shows spike in ILI; now 6% (ILINet)
Sentinel ILI: 1.1%
Updated viral testing through week 17 still indicating all flu around at diminished levels (~10% positive)
Week 21:
Spike in ILI in above report apparently due to reporting lag. ILI shows decrease in weeks 19 and 20, then a slight increase in week 21 NOTE: Influenza-like-illness (ILI) surveillance reporting has concluded for the 2010-2011 season. Reporting will begin again in early October.
