    Typhoid death in Samoa prompts action

    The death of a one-year-old baby from a village in Upolu from typhoid has sparked the Red Cross Samoa into action.

    The Red Cross conducted a hygienic assessment in Aele last week and is now supporting the villagers by providing them with soap and clothes to ensure the families are protected.

    Typhoid outbreak at Samoa prison

    The Ministry of health in Samoa is investigating the cause of a typhoid fever outbreak at the main Tafaigata prison after ten confirmed cases among inmates.

    The prisoners are being treated at the prison by doctors and cannot be admitted at the national hospital as part of measures to avoid the disease spreading...
