By Valarie Honeycutt Spears - vhoneycutt@herald-leader.com
R.W. Combs Elementary School in Perry County will be closed Monday after administrators learned of two unconfirmed cases of viral meningitis.
Principal Scott Brown said the students, who are in the same family, are at University of Kentucky Hospital.
"We don't want to take any chances," Brown said. He said he expected to have more information Monday.
Brown said he did not know when the school would reopen.
On Friday, Jerry Patton, a 13-year-old boy in the Nicholas County school district, died after being hospitalized for viral meningitis.
