    Thursday, 29 October 2009 11:41

The Kentucky Public Health Laboratory has confirmed that the death of a 59-year-old male on October 26 in Richmond was caused by complications from the H1N1 virus.

This is the first death in Madison County related to the H1N1 virus.

The deceased had significant underlying health conditions.

Meantime, the Lake Cumberland District Health Department is reporting the death of a McCreary County woman that was caused by complications from H1N1. It is not known if the woman had underlying health conditions.

Officials Say H1N1 Responsible For Two More Kentucky Deaths

    Posted: Oct 30, 2009 5:25 AM
Two more Kentuckians have died from the H1N1 virus.

The latest victims are a woman from McCreary County and a 59-year-old man, Garry Freeman, of Madison County.

Health officials said Freeman had recently been hospitalized for a respiratory illness and died from complications of the swine flu. This is the first reported H1N1 related death in Madison County.

We're told the McCreary County woman died Sunday at a hospital in Tennessee, also from sinw flu complications.
