MORGANTOWN -- There have been three flu-related deaths reported in the area recently.
    All were women.

Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown had a 44-year-old from Gilmer County die on Nov. 13, according to hospital spokeswoman Amy Johns.

Another woman from Brooke County, who was 33, died the next day, Johns said.

The hospital currently has 15 patients with H1N1 symptoms, said Johns. Of those, 7 are confirmed and 8 are still pending lab results. Four of the 15 are children.

United Hospital Center in Clarksburg has had one flu-related death, according to Dr. Mark Povroznik, Chairman of Infection Control and H1N1 Coordinator.

The woman was 51 and from Harrison County, Povroznik said.

While she did test positive for influenza, Povroznik said the woman's primary cause of death may not have been H1N1, as she had other contributory illnesses
