H1N1 positive cases reach 6,244

MUSCAT: The H1N1 National Follow-Up and Management Committee has announced that the number of cases infected by the virus stood at 6,244 and the number of vaccine doses given to citizens and residents at various governmental and private health establishments were 30,000.
The committee pointed out that it did not record any new death in the past weeks and hence the number of recorded deaths remains 31.
The Ministry of Health has begun vaccination campaign since the arrival of the vaccine in the Sultanate in October last year. It had also announced that those citizens and residents wishing to get vaccinated could do so at various government and private health establishments.
The ministry has advised the importance of getting vaccinated, especially for those who have health problems like cancer, Aids and others.
