The H1N1 influenza vaccination programme was a significant focus for the Irish Medicines Board (IMB) in 2009, as it received more than 900 reports of adverse reactions to the vaccine. Each case was assessed and followed up by IMB pharmacovigilance experts, according to the Board?s 2009 Annual Report.
These adverse reports contributed to an overall increase in the number of suspected adverse reaction reports that year, which rose by 19 per cent (from 2,742 to 3,276). Just over 600 reports were submitted via the online reporting system....more from the source.
