    CUMBERLAND ? Two cases of H3N2 influenza have been confirmed in Mineral County, according to the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health website. Statewide, West Virginia is considered to have sporadic flu activity, according to FluView on the website for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

    In Maryland, Allegany County Health Officer Dr. Sue Raver said Friday she was surprised that not only are there no confirmed influenza cases in Allegany County, but none anywhere in the state.

    ?I?m sure if there were I would have heard rather quickly, even at home on a holiday weekend,? Raver said. ?We were expecting to have some confirmations by now.?
