Ten days after the investigation report is sent to ruleThe Director General Medical Education and Training Uttar Pradesh Gorakhpur medical college in the 18 August 2008 letter to the principal encephalitis patients were allowed to buy essential medicine Immunoglobulin . October 20, 2008 by Deputy Secretary Uttar Pradesh government to provide adequate instruction of the drug was given to the Director of Medical Education. Investigation found that in spite of the instructions of the Director General and the rule concerning the purchase of life-saving drugs has not been since October 2009. Do not give this medicine from 2010 to 2012 there has been an unprecedented increase in mortality from encephalitis. 3003 patients were recruited in 2010 including 514 deaths. I'm not sure that I agree with all of the conclusions in the above paper. The suggestion that the first, second & third cases could all be infected by the same mosquito is unlikely to say the least. The idea of human to human spread is unlikely. More likely, there is a large reservoir of the virus in pigs & wild birds leading to multiple mosquito carriers. In addition many of the cases are not confirmed JE and might be enteroviral in nature from contaminated water.
