The 46-year-old, that he showed the first symptoms of the disease, and was transferred with the helicopter from the hospital in Lanusei at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. THE man, who is suffering from a severe form of pneumonia massive bilateral, will be subjected to the Ecmo, the extracorporeal oxygenation of the blood.
This is the only therapy which is capable of stopping the contagion: a 'machine save-lungs' will be able to remove the accumulated carbon dioxide in the veins of the patient.
