Re: Western Azerbaijan: Mass chicken die-off - H5N1 confirmed

These kind of conflicting press reports seem to be normal.

Also on cannot exclude translation bugs. I must admit my knowledge of the Russian language is zero.

However the statement 'not confirmed' seems clear enough.

The previous reports says: "H5" is confirmed, we are working on the N1.

This could be behind the statement: "not confirmed".

Azerbaijan has not confirmed the facts of infection in poultry bird flu

Infections in poultry virus H5N1 ("bird flu") in the Samukh region in western Azerbaijan is not confirmed, said on Friday the first deputy chief executive of Samukh region Tahir Garayev.

"Indeed, in a certain period in poultry have been deaths, but it is a natural process that takes place periodically," - said Garayev.

According to him, this case had no relation to the virus of bird flu.

According to the words spoken before the press secretary of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture Yolchu Veliyev, in connection with the facts of mass deaths of poultry in the area of civil service Samukh conducts laboratory analysis of samples taken.

"All necessary measures to prevent the spread of these cases have already been taken," - said Veliyev.

Фактов заражения домашней птицы вирусом H5N1 ("птичьим гриппом") на территории Самухского района на западе Азербайджана не зафиксировано, сказал в пятницу первый заместитель главы исполнительной власти Самухского района Таир Гараев.
