Siracusa: muore un bambino di cinque anni in Ospedale dopo febbre alta
Siracusa – Sono ancora da accertare le cause del decesso di un bambino di cinque anni morto ieri mattina all'ospedale Umberto I di Siracusa dopo essere stato ricoverato da alcuni giorni al reparto di Pediatria per una febbre alta che non accennava a calare. Già qualche mese fa il piccolo sarebbe stato ricoverato per lo stesso motivo nel nosocomio aretuseo per effettuare accertamenti sulle cause della febbre ma il miglioramento delle sue condizioni avrebbe spinto i sanitari a dimetterlo. Pochi giorni fa invece il ritorno della febbre alta, fattore che avrebbe convinto i genitori del bambino a riportarlo in ospedale per ripetere gli esami. Una situazione evolutasi tragicamente ieri mattina quando, all'aggravarsi delle condizioni del piccolo ne sarebbe stato disposto il trasferimento in elisoccorso in una struttura sanitaria pediatrica specializzata. Tentativo divenuto inutile dal momento che il cuore del bambino ha cessato di battere rendendo vano ogni tentativo di salvarlo. Sul caso non è al momento stata avviata alcuna indagine, il corpo del piccolo è stato consegnato ai familiari per lo svolgimento dei funerali che dovrebbero aver luogo entro oggi. Intanto con l'evolversi di quest'ultima vicenda torna alla ribalta il problema dell'assenza a Siracusa di una struttura di rianimazione pediatrica. Una problema quello della mancanza di una reparto attrezzato, specializzato negli interventi d'urgenza sui bambini a lungo sollevato da più parti ma di fatto ancora senza soluzione, tanto da indurre molte famiglie a rivolgersi per i casi più urgenti ad altre strutture, spesso molto lontane dalla nostra provincia.

Nei giorni scorsi un bambino di 5 anni è stato ricoverato presso l'Ospedale Umberto I per una febbre molto alta. I medici hanno subito disposto gli aggiornamenti del caso per capire l'origine del malessere.
Poche ore dopo, le condizioni del bambino si sarebbero aggravate, tanto da indurre il personale del nosocomio ad avviare la procedura per il trasporto in elicottero presso l'Ospedale dei Bambini di Palermo. Il cuore del piccolo però, ha smesso di battere prima che potesse partire. Pare che la famiglia non abbia sporto alcuna denuncia, pertanto non è stata avviata alcuna inchiesta. Resta però questo un episodio tragico, che ha portato via un piccolo bambino innocente.
Una morte che si sarebbe potuta evitare forse, se l'Ospedale di Siracusa avesse il Pronto Soccorso pediatrico, che purtroppo non possiede. Molte famiglie infatti, portano spesso i figli presso le strutture pediatriche più attrezzate, quali quelle catanesi.
