3 types of human Rhinovirus (HRV) : A,B,C --> enterovirus --> picornaviridae
Antwerp Rhinovirus

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although recombination within the coding region is frequent in other picornavirus groups,
most evidence of recombination in HRV has been restricted to the 5' untranslated region
HRV-B and HRV-C showed very little evidence of recombination within the coding region
HRV-A may have been subject to extensive recombination during the period of
diversification into types.
Picornaviridae, one of the oldest and most diversified human virus family
The error rate of picornavirus RNA polymerases has been estimated to range between
10^−3 and 10^−4 errors/nucleotide/cycle of replication
ability to rapidly mutate the capsid protein while still conserving replicative fitness
The total number of minority mutations detected in the four viral populations was 45.
The number of minority mutations detected in the original inoculum was 32, thus revealing
that 13 additional minority mutations appeared in the three populations studied
after 5 days of viral replication.
--------------------------------------------------------------
HRV-B and human enteroviruses (HEV) diverged from the last common ancestor
after their separation from HRV-A.
In contrast to HEV viruses, HRV-A and HRV-B share also markedly lower GC content
along the whole genome length.
(does it walk around the world in yearly waves as does influenza ?)
(how many years ago did the lineages separate)
3713 hits for rhinovirus at pubmed
(72000 for influenza, 11000 for dengue,)
