Revised 18 probable cases of influenza in Jalisco

As workers increase their efforts, they just send more people to the health of the fence Central New.
    Sun, 26/04/2009 - 06:56

Guadalajara .- The health authorities of Jalisco analyzed 18 cases of influenza in the state, at least one in Guadalajara, as reported yesterday by the Health Secretary, Alfonso Guti?rrez Carranza, to the governor and other members of state cabinet until Last night there was no officially confirmed.

But that did not stop the strengthening of activities and extreme care among Jalisco yesterday, health centers and hospitals in the entity continued to work at top speed to deal with any possible case of influenza, whereas cubrebocas began to appear among the Tapatio, who reported aware and alert about the preventive measures to observe. Although the state school system does not suspend classes during the week, the University of Guadalajara will do it Monday and Tuesday.

The overstraining of health workers and the exercise of conscience of many Tapatio, to prevent the disease that has killed over 80 people in the country, contrasted with some of the officers in Jalisco. Health Secretary announced that it had reinforced the low fence that was installed on health in the New Friday bus. However, yesterday there were only nine people in each of three shifts for the seven modules of the terminal (see separate article).

And that, despite recognizing that the probable cases are people who visited or other entities that originated them. All, except the Guadalajara are under treatment at home just in case your situation will get worse, said Governor Emilio Gonz?lez M?rquez, will be transferred to a hospital for care.

The first case was a man of 45 years, from Jalisco, who returned to Guadalajara after a visit to Nayarit, as confirmed by the governor: "It is placed here in Guadalajara, in a serious state of health, with symptoms that presumably to doctors who could was the first case of influenza in the state of Jalisco. "

The version of the secretary of health was similar: "We believe that most certainly going to be flu, even without the laboratory result state."

Of the other 17 patients, nine came from the Federal District, four from New York to Puerto Vallarta, and four more are in this state.

    Surrounded

The governor also reported that increased the number of cases in every state that borders with the exception Zacatecas.
According to Emilio Gonzalez, this led to his government to conduct preventive actions such as strengthening the health care fence. The governor insisted that, since yesterday, health personnel assigned to the Central New will go up from yesterday to verify the trucks, at a glance, to potential patients. He said the revised truck by truck, in the seven modules of the entity ... but yesterday, even after 21:00 pm there were only eight people per shift assigned to the seven modules of the terminal.

The contrast with the Guadalajara airport, where yesterday there were frequent scenes sharing cubrebocas to passengers and users, and between employees of the terminal and the airlines, was evident. The building operates an area of Health and three international medical health.

The Central News is one of the most important, because the governor suggested that prospective patients were detected to arrive in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta: "Of the 17 possible cases of influenza, the majority are people who have had contact or who have traveled to Mexico City, who have traveled to the city of Aguascalientes, mainly. "

In addition to strengthening the health siege, the governor reported that mobile units will be implemented between staff of the Ministry of Health and the Mexican army for early detection of disease, to settle in major centers of reunion. This is to break the transmission chain, said the governor.

    Classless

Meanwhile, the University of Guadalajara announced that "consistent with the preventive measures established by the Health Sector", Monday and Tuesday morning will not work across the institution, but will return to operate normally on Wednesday 29.

But the state school system it will have classes Monday morning and will be used to disseminate information on children and young people, to transmit to their families. Also reinforce the information through the media, civic organizations, churches and state and municipal police forces, in addition to medical elements of the Army, who distributed information on streets and houses.

Similarly, fifteen units were sent to the mobile population centers throughout the state, especially those bordering states where outbreaks and are presented as Cihuatlan, a resident of Colima.

Finally, it was announced that the Ministry of Health in the state has enough doses of medication to deal with cases that might be present, although neither the governor nor the secretary of Health specifying the amount or class of drugs. The secretary said it is only of antivirals.

    Call for calm

The governor insisted yesterday that the state authorities are working properly to the situation in Mexico: "We are now in a pretrial phase, but so far not given us sufficient information to a larger [...] . This is a moment where we began to take measures in accordance with the seriousness which now have. "

He recalled that "there is still the case in Mexico as to think they can suspend football matches, [...] or you can suspend other events." Health Secretary, however, did not rule out that it is probable that other doctors will join the siege of health, because we are looking for more to be sent to the Central News.

As of yesterday, and with probable cause for these cases, the governor announced the installation of the Bureau of Security and Public Health, also formed by the Secretaries of Health and Safety Education, and through which they report daily progress.

Your welcome. Here is a little more. By Health Care Resources /Puerto Vallarta's Pamela Thompson

With all the outbreak of swine flu in Mexico, should you be afraid to travel to Puerto Vallarta? Health Care Resources Puerto Vallarta's Pamela Thompson has the latest news and health reports from around Banderas Bay.

Not much new to report today. One thing that I do think is important is that, as per Dr. Luis Suarez here in Puerto Vallarta (infectious disease specialist) the incubation period for this new influenza is 2-3 days.

Private hospitals in the area are fairly slow, with patients being admitted for the general "other" type of things, as is the norm. As of noon today, no confirmed cases, as before in the states of Jalisco, Nayarit or Colima.

Precautions are still in place but many less masks seen on people out in the streets today. No official word yet as to when businesses and schools will re-open. As it stands now, the date is to be Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

The weather is beginning to warm up a bit, which tends to change the course in many infections "in the air" (diminishing them.)

                        Fri, 08/05/2009 - 05:21
Emilio Gonzalez and Alfonso Gutierrez reported that examines whether two Jalisco may have died from influenza A-H1N1.

Guadalajara Jalisco .- The government confirmed last night eleven new cases of influenza caused by virus A-H1N1, after receiving the positive tests from the National Institute of Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference (Indre), the federal Health Ministry.

With those, 26 were already positive cases of influenza A confirmed for Jalisco. The state government said in a communique that they were all patients who received timely medical care, with the antiviral medication, and returned to their regular lives after being discharged.

But the Jalisco government also admitted that there were 104 cases of influenza A in Jalisco INDRE in the study and also reviewed the deaths of two patients who died of atypical pneumonia.

The eleven new cases are confirmed yesterday, five men and six women, all between ten and 42 years of age, six are from Guadalajara and one in Zapopan, two are from San Juan de Los Lagos, one of Colotl?n and one of Encarnaci?n de D?az.

The 104 "probable cases" of course with influenza A-H1N1 in all patients whose samples were positive for the strain A in the indirect immunofluorescence test in the State Laboratory of Public Health.

As for the two deaths, a unit of prey convened shortly before two o'clock, the governor Emilio Gonzalez Marquez reported that relate to a woman of 34 years, with "atypical pneumonia" as cause of death recorded on 23 April, and a girl of eight years, a victim of "pneumonia" on April 30. Returned from the small state of Aguascalientes (one of the first states with influenza A-H1N1).

Both cases went to that test negative, but samples were sent to INDRE, in compliance with a regular file. " According to the state, all deaths from respiratory tract infections should be subject to the taking of a sample and send it for analysis to the federal authorities.

In the meeting with the press, the governor acknowledged that eleven of the first fifteen positive cases (known Wednesday evening) had been negative in the review in Jalisco, and explained that a positive change due to the precision of PCR in real time, which is made in the INDRE.

Of the 104 patients with influenza A, is known only the result of nine: four new virus-positive (A-H1N1) and five negative. The rest are still waiting to confirm the diagnosis in Mexico City, 50 are women and 54 men, for his part said the Health Ministry Jalisco (SSJ), the majority (43.3 percent) are less than zero to ten years).

However, since last April 24, all samples that are analyzed in the laboratory are sent to state INDRE (1.365 to date), or the holder of the Executive, or their spokesmen, or the SSJ had announced the existence of probable cases, positive for influenza A, but until last Tuesday, admitted that only nine (Public, May 6, 2009).

Even a week ago, this newspaper asked specifically to the Health Secretary, Alfonso Guti?rrez Carranza, to the number of tests relating to INDRE and he still had not sent any.

This implies that de facto there was no positive evidence for influenza A, since, for the disposal of the federal Health Secretariat (SSA), all testing positive immunofluorescence ECA to be sent to INDRE to know if they belong to the virus California 2009 A-H1N1 subtype or another (such as H5N1, the avian flu).

Yesterday in a heated press conference where he questioned the subject of such data, the governor Emilio Gonzalez Marquez said that information was never hidden and back, there was confusion in the handling of the terms.

The governor's report showed that the first fifteen confirmed cases in the state just came May 6 (four cases at 13:09 pm and the other eleven, shortly after 19:00 am), why explained that from April 25 until May 5 repeats: "So far Jalisco continues free influenza (swine, or human A-H1N1, and finally he was appointed). And besides, he said, "we have always acted as if they had confirmed cases in Jalisco."

Interviewed separately, Guti?rrez Carranza said the speech said that it reported on sending proof INDRE. It was not like that ... until last Tuesday when, during a news conference, the governor mentioned first nine probable cases. That day, the Public announced the existence of at least eight patients at the Hospital Civil de Guadalajara with a positive test for influenza A by immunofluorescence. What immediately classified according to guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) as "probable cases" of influenza A-H1N1.

The SSJ recommends staying at home

Cinemas, bars, clubs, restaurants and other twists involving the conglomerate of people in confined spaces constitute a risk of transmission of influenza A-H1N1, considered the secretary of health in Jalisco, Alfonso Guti?rrez Carranza, which invited the responsibility to take preventive measures.

"I appeal to the conscience of the employer and the user, remember that we are talking about their children's lives and those of them ... I can not oblige, but I can recommend." It is recommended to limit access to sites capable of conglomerates. "The home is the safest place," he said.

Guti?rrez Carranza noted that municipalities must verify that the shifts in their territory comply with preventive measures. "Many municipalities have not joined as it should be," he regretted, and now that the decree of closure forced closed, the state agency can not punish them unless they violate health rules.

In the period of validity of the decree (1 to May 6) the SSJ 140 imposed a temporary closure turns to be a fine in order to reopen reported.
