Commentary
The influenza surveillance system has detected an increase in the reporting of ETI and a low number of cases
confirmed influenza A and B.
It is important to maintain active surveillance for seasonal influences and sampling especially
autumn, to confirm that the increase in influenza cases matches. It must be attentive to the detection of cases
Influenza A in all establishments to be delivered to the ISP, which allows to identify the subtype of circulating
to meet the objectives of the surveillance.
The detection of new cases of human influenza A (H1N1), is based on the case definition established in
Circular B51 / 18 of 30/4/2009, which is focused on passengers coming from countries currently affected or
People who have had contact with these patients and travelers to submit pictures breathing. This requires
notify SEREMIs Epidemiology of Health and send the sample to the ISP.
