CANBERRA, June 24 (Xinhua) -- A 50-year-old woman in Victoria with life-threatening cancer has become the third Australian to die with A/H1N1 flu.

"The woman died early today at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center, where she has been a long-term patient receiving treatment for cancer," Victorian Health Minister Daniel Andrews said on Wednesday.

The woman is the second patient at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center to be diagnosed with the A/H1N1 virus.

He said a second patient with A/H1N1 flu was receiving appropriate care.

Andrews revealed the center had established a separate high-dependency unit to limit the spread of the disease.

The Victorian government is working with health services to ensure they could meet the increased demand for services throughout the flu season, he said.

"We will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure all flu patients receive the appropriate care," Andrews said.

?Addressing chronic disease is an issue of human rights ? that must be our call to arms"
