Two more H1N1 deaths confirmed in B.C.
Updated Wed. Aug. 5 2009 12:29 PM ET

    The Canadian Press

Two more deaths in British Columbia from the H1N1 flu virus have pushed the total number of swine-flu deaths in Canada to 62.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says the most recent of the two deaths occurred some time between July 30 and Aug. 4.

B.C. officials have not released any details about the victims, although one died in the Fraser Health Region in Metro Vancouver while the other was from the B.C. Interior.

A seven-year-old Fraser Valley boy who died in mid-July was the province's first recorded victim of the virus.

B.C.'s health ministry also says the death of a woman July 14 was associated with H1N1, but is not included in the provincial toll because it was never confirmed in the laboratory.

Figures from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control show 634 B.C. residents have tested positive for the H1N1 virus, while almost 1,300 cases have been hospitalized across Canada.
