Certainly worth continuing to track though, as this is a rather large CCHF outbreak. I don't trust the figures in the post #1 though; many of the other articles refer to 24 under observation or maybe 24 infected. Twenty-four deaths would be a very large CCHF outbreak and might suggest some extraordinary situation beyond simply infected ticks and nosocomial transmission (maybe ground up ticks in a food product or something of that nature).

Actually, that first article gives the cause of all those infections or deaths - apparently the whole village washed the corpse of a possible CCHF victim. My reading on the first article is that a resident of that village died in Russia of CCHF, and when they returned his body to the village, this outbreak occurred. That meets my standard of an unusual exposure. That's bad. That'll produce a lot of infections real fast, and is one of the more common causes of large hemorrhagic outbreaks (Ebola, Marburg) in Africa.
