                          Located on the territory of Zhambyl region desert is a natural hotbed Moyynkumy KKGL. This zone is located 48 settlements Sarysu, Moiynkum and Talas regions with a population of more than 50 thousand people.

                          In accordance with the Decree of the Government of Kazakhstan ?On urgent measures to protect the public from dangerous to human blood-sucking insects and mites? in three districts of Zhambyl region during activation of mites was carried out extensive range of preventive, anti-epidemic and protivokleschevyh activities.

                          Set up a headquarters to coordinate activities put in place operational plans for all concerned services and departments to combat KKGL, organized exploration zoological parasitological survey of natural foci of KKGL.

                          The survey revealed a high activity of ticks this year, exceeding the previous years almost in 2,5 times.

                          Medical institutions were ready in case of detection of patients with practicing notification options, transporting sick and injured from the mites. In problematic areas have been deployed facilities for the sick and provisionally office for victims of tick bites.

                          Conducted protective protivokleschevye handling around all the settlements located in disadvantaged by KKGL territory.

                          On Aug. 25 registered 42 people affected by mites. Ill KKGL not registered.

                          It is planned in September - October to conduct exploration work in order to predict the epidemiological situation and the scope of work in the natural focus for next year.

                            The epidemiological situation of infectious and parasitic diseases in the country remains stable - Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan

                            ASTANA. September 4. KAZINFORM - Today in the Ministry of Health held its regular meeting of the board of sanitary-epidemiological service of the republic, the press-service agencies.

                            At the board meeting attended by leaders of agencies and organizations of the sanitary-epidemiological service of the republic.

                            At the Board reviewed the issues of sanitary-epidemiological situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the past period this year.

                            Following 7 months of 2009 epidemiological situation of infectious and parasitic diseases remained stable.

                            Not registered incidence of 6 nosologies: plague, cholera, tularemia, diphtheria, measles, polio. Reduced morbidity and 19 nosologies. Registered single incidence of 4 nosologies: typhoid, paratyphoid, malaria, leptospirosis.

                            Reported growing incidence of rotavirus enteritis on 63,3%, 17,1% of hydatidosis, syphilis 5.7%, hemorrhagic fevers and tick-borne encephalitis - in 8 cases of whooping cough, trichinellosis in 3 cases, leptospirosis - in 2 cases.

                            In the period from April to August 2009 among the population of South Kazakhstan and Kyzylorda domains registered on 22 cases of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever.

                            This year among the population of recorded 17 imported cases of influenza A/H1N1. As a result of operational and emergency measures, all patients were promptly identified and received appropriate treatment. Schools take preventive steps to prevent skidding and distribution of seasonal and pandemic influenza among schoolchildren.

                            In accordance with the instruction of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan on August 19, 2009 № 120-p adopted a national plan for responding to pandemic influenza, which provides for 163 events from 5 lines to respond to an influenza pandemic, with the participation of all concerned government bodies.

                            In August 2009, in accordance with the decision of the Chief Medical Officer of the Republic of Kazakhstan held readiness review of educational institutions to the new 2009-2010 school year.

                            In 7 796 schools in the Republic carried out repair work identified 118 educational institutions that are in poor condition, rebuilt 25 health points, planned organization of hot food in 70% of the schools, the implementation of the pantry products in 15,3% of the schools.

                            The work of sanitary-epidemiological service of the republic before the end of this year will focus on the organization of preventive and anti-epidemic measures in the forthcoming epidemic season on the incidence of influenza and other infectious diseases.
