Sharon Sanders Interviews William Schaffner, MD @ 4 PM EST August 17, 2009
Over the past several months Sharon Sanders of Flutrackers has interviewed a number of experts in the field of influenza for the Infectious Disease Hour on Radio Sandy Springs.
These interviews are initially webcast on Radio Sandy Springs 1620 AM on Monday afternoons at 4pm (EDT) and then are archived and may be downloaded from the Infectious Disease Show Archive.
On Monday, August 17that 4pm EDT Sharon will interview Dr. William Schaffner, Chairman of the Department of Preventive Medicine as well as Professor of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Dr. Schaffner is currently a liaison member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which has been in the news the past couple of weeks, and is a former member of NVAC (National Vaccine Advisory Committee) making him uniquely qualified to discuss pandemic vaccine issues.

Ask about the current, real, timing of the expected vax flow to the health safety workers. When does it start flowing?
There are reports that the quantities of vax available in the US will be drastically below what was estimated, in the time periods estimated. How much will be available during each month, October through January, based on current reality?
What steps if any have been taken to change the quantities available?
What steps are being taken now to change the formula to adapt it to the higher mortality strains such as Argentina's or in Brazil, right now? And when will those be effective?
