A Yakima County man in his 30s is the 13th swine flu death this year in Washington.

The Yakima County Health District says he had underlying health conditions that put him at risk for complications from the virus.

The district says seven other people in Yakima County have tested positive this month for swine flu.

The state Health Department reports there have been 148 people hospitalized with the flu in the current outbreak.

Spokesman Tim Church says state and local officials are preparing for the expected arrival of swine flu vaccine in mid-October. Meanwhile, Church says, people should get the seasonal flu shot, which is already available.
