  • California DoH Reports 167 Deaths - FT Total 199

    Source: http://www.cdph.ca.gov/data/statisti...ataTables.aspx

The discrepancies are largely delays in reporting from the County level to the State level. For example, LA County has a report on their website showing 35 deaths and the state shows only 23 deaths. In the case of San Diego County (3 deaths) and Shasta County (1 death), we have counted visitors who died in those counties, but neither the county nor state is counting them. For some reason, the CA DoH list has never included Ventura County for which we have 1 death recorded.

The CA DoH site is showing 3 new deaths in Fresno County and 1 new death in Placer County, for which no media reports have been posted, so these 4 deaths are new to the FT list.

    Thanks JimO.

As a reminder, we are documenting the cases we can find. There may be more that we miss.

i didn't know where else to put this:

in the next county over from me (sonoma county, california) a 14-yr old died of h1n1 who had 'pre-existing conditions'...he had heart surgery when he was 3 and had been in excellent health since (according to his mother)...he had even been cleared to play football by his doctor...

another death - a 39-yr old man with 'pre-existing conditions' had mild asthma but still participated in team roping and other rodeo events all his life...

i don't trust the term 'pre-existing condition' anymore...

Thanks for posting. It's always a tremedous help when folks post local information that is often not widely reported. I remember the young man who participated in rodeo events, but I couldn't locate the thread. Here is a thread with details on the 14-yr-old boy.
