Hallee Cartwright died just before 6 a.m. Friday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, hospital officials confirmed. The cause is believed to be complications of the flu and a bacterial infection.

Officials with Vanderbilt said she had been transported from Middle Tennessee Medical Center some time earlier that morning.

?She?s one of the most loved, beautiful, loving, tender-hearted students at (Providence Christian Academy),? said Murfreesboro Realtor John C. Jones, whose son Jack was a close friend of Hallee?s. The children have attended school together for eight years. ?This has devastated our school.?

Funeral details have not been finalized at this time.

    12 Year Old Possible H1N1 Death-Sky Arnold

Rhonda Wiser wants people to remember her daughter Halleh Cartrwright as a happy girl with a strong faith.

"She was happy, loved life, loved to smile and she was able to do that because of her salvation with the lord," said Wiser.

The 12 year old girl died Friday morning from a combination of the flu and unknown complications.

Doctors have told the family it's possible the flu was from the H1N1 strain.

They hope to know sometime in the next 14 weeks what that unknown complication was.

    The girl's death came quickly.

Cartwright first started showing signs of the flu Wednesday and went to a medical clinic.

Those symptoms became worse even though the girl was taking Tamiflu and early Friday morning she was rushed to the hospital.

She died roughly 6 hours later.

"It was completely shocking and I have to admit frightening because there were no clues leading up to this," said Cartwright's home room teacher Bonita Jones.

Cartwright's school, Providence Christian Academy, closed to give students and teachers a chance to mourn Monday.

Classes will resume Tuesday.12 Year Old Possible H1N1 Death-Sky Arnold
