11 News is learning more about the two people who died from the H1N1 virus in Pueblo county on October 6.

Tuesday, it was announced by the Pueblo City-County Health Department that the deaths of 37-year-old Ronald ?Andy? Berumen and 21-year-old Jacqueline Romero have been linked to the H1N1 flu strain.

Both victims passed away on October 6, and health officials say both patients had underlying chronic illnesses.

Berumen apparently suffered from seizures. He leaves behind a wife and three children.

Romero suffered from diabetes. She is survived by her parents and a boyfriend.

Health officials say both victims were high risk adults, but the health department says the virus can be just as dangerous for normally health adults. "If you or your family notices that things are not right, you know... you're having trouble breathing, you're short of breath when you stand up, you're having trouble even walking to the bathroom, maybe you're dizzy and you can't drink or eat anything and are dehydrated. All those are symptoms that something worse may be happening."

Dr. Nevin-Woods also says that you shouldn?t let money concerns stop you from getting help. It could mean the difference between life and death.

Family of Swine Flu Victim Speaks Out

So far this flu season 14 people in our state have died from the Swine Flu. One of the most recent, a 21-year-old from Pueblo. Some of Jacqueline Romero's family members spoke with 11 News, they want to warn all of us about how dangerous this virus can be. Especially for those with underlying health conditions like Jacqueline.

Especially for those with underlying health conditions like Jacqueline.

Her family says she was diabetic and once she got sick she went downhill really fast. She didn't seek medical care and in a matter of days she was dead.

"She was sweet, she was a precious little thing," said her aunt, Diana Gurule.

On October 6th Jacqueline was found dead inside her apartment. The Pueblo County Coroner says she died from the Swine Flu.

"It's just hard to explain how much I miss her," said her boyfriend Derek Impson. He says Jacqueline got sick about five days before she died.

"Her throat was hurting and her chest was killing her. I thought it was just the regular flu," Derek said.

He says he tried to get Jacqueline to go see a doctor but she wouldn't. "She just didn't want to go, she was stubborn like that."

And her family says she didn't have insurance and she was worried about how much it would cost.

"Her parents are just devastated, it was fast, it was sudden," said Diana.

An unbelievable loss for her family and friends. "She did have diabetes but she looked well and it's hard to believe that she's gone," Diana said.

A young life taken away too soon. Her family just hopes by telling Jacqueline's story they may help save someone else's life.

The CDC says most cases of the H1N1 virus have been mild this year but there are some emergency warning signs and if you have them you should seek medical care right away.

In children they are:
Trouble breathing or fast breathing
Gray or bluish skin color
Severe or persistent vomiting
Fever with a rash
Not waking up or not interacting
Not drinking enough fluids or liquid
In adults:
Difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath
Pain or pressure in the abdomen or chest
Severe or persistent vomiting
Confusion
Sudden dizziness
