JOHN MICHAEL LEE
JOHN MICHAEL LEE, 33 passed away on October 17, 2009 after a brief illness with the flu. He was born on November 7, 1975 in Houston, Texas. John graduated in 1994 from Mayde Creek High School and attended the University of Texas in Austin. He was employed at Metlife as a financial services representative. John was the devoted, loving son of Sandi Lee-Gray, and a faithful member of Trinity Episcopal Church where is served as Adult Acolyte Guild Master, Altar Guild Member, Gospel Justice Visioning Committee Member, Lay Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Young Adults Group, Young Adults Steering Committee Member, Youth Sunday School Teacher, and Membership Database Coordinator. He also was dedicated to community involvement serving as a board member for Alief ISD Education Foundation, Brigid's Place and a member in Houston West Chamber of Commerce.John is preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas J. Lee, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Sandi Kay Lee-Gray and step father Bob Gray, brother, Wayne Thomas Hebert, Uncle, Thomas J. Lee, III, grandmother, Juanita F. Lee and cousins.John will always be remembered for his extraordinary kindness, intelligence, humility, and eagerness to serve the world around him. His loving spirit brought warmth to every gathering, and his loyalty to family, friends, and the community brightened the lives of those who knew him personally, as well as those who benefited from his generosity at a distance. John freely shared his business management and website skills with many organizations and individuals, always giving far more than asked.Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.Funeral Service will be held at12 noon on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Reverends Hannah Atkins, Murray Powell and Stacy Stringer officiating. Interment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 1015 Holman Houston, Texas 77004, and Brigid's Place, c/o Christ Church Cathedral, 1117 Texas Ave. Houston, Texas 77002.
