Kuwait swine flu fatalities rise to 24

FLU DEATHS: Kuwait on Sunday reported two further fatalities, taking the total number of H1N1 related deaths to 24. (Getty Images)Two further swine flu related fatalities were announced in Kuwait on Sunday, bringing the total number of H1N1 deaths in the Gulf state to 24.

Health Ministry spokesman Dr Qais Al-Dowsiri said that both patients were suffering from chronic diseases before being infected by the H1N1 virus.

The tally of swine flu infectees since April has reached 7,718 in Kuwait, he told KUNA News Agency, most of which were mild cases and had fully recovered.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 2: The Ministry of Health announced eight new swine flu cases recorded last week and ten cases recorded the week before, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Ministry stated that 8,662 swine flu cases have been recorded since April 2009 with 26 deaths.

شددت وزارة الصحة على وجود مخزون استراتيجي كافٍ من لقاح إنفلونزا الخنازير، وكشفت عن وصول 500 ألف جرعة من اللقاح في غضون الأيام القليلة المقبلة.
