Germans sought swine flu vaccine in Austria 13/11/2009


The German demand for the vaccination came out of a rumour that Austria?s vaccine was more effective than their own country?s.



Vienna -- Many Germans sought a swine flu vaccination in Austria, following rumours that their alpine neighbour had a better vaccine than Germany, health authorities said Thursday.

"There were a lot of inquiries, especially around the border region with Bavaria," Christa Entstrasser, spokeswoman for Tirol province's health authority, told AFP.

"This came out of a rumour that Austria had a more effective vaccine than Germany," she said. "Vaccination centres said they received up to 30 phone calls per day."

The peak occurred two weeks ago and then interest faded after information got around that non-residents were not entitled to the A(H1N1) vaccine in Austria, Entstrasser added.

"Everybody can get a vaccine, but they must live in Austria," the health ministry confirmed on Thursday.

Austria, which has so far reported one death from the A(H1N1) virus, ordered enough vaccine for the entire population of 8.3 million shortly after the outbreak of swine flu earlier this year.

A voluntary vaccination campaign was launched on Monday.

Messanges change, while they go around the world.

The germany government made a contract with GlaxoSmithKline for delivery 50million units of vaccine pandemrix.
This vaccine is within adjuvans and mercury.
Not for young people and pregnant woman.

In the same time the german army ordered roundabout 200 T units vaccine for themselfe and the government from baxter (Celvapan) without off thouse.
Ok, great discussion in german press and forum over some weeks.

Since many month out of every hole the conspiracy-theoreticians came out and told, Bilderbergers will kill us...
Some people belive...
Only 10% of the people want to get the vaccine, more than 65% told, they don?t want. A no go.

Since a week ago also in germany people start to die due to the flu.
Now we have about 16 cases of death in one week.
People changed their mind and now they want the vaccine.
But it is very, very less!!!
May be, there are less than 3-4 millions units of vaccine delivered and totaly chaos in distribution.
Less than a half million got the shot today.

May be, in end of nov. there are 8 million units delivered, end of december 15-20 million, who knows?
And 2-3 weeks to be immune..., when the chaos will be over...

When come the flu?
Is it still there?

Some german get panic and now they want vaccine from austria, because of the better organisation.
The most not interresting, what kind of vaccine..

I?ve got my shot on the 5. of november in germany.
But i know, how to do....

what vaccine has Austria, don't they have Pandemrix

Yes, everybody in Germany who wants the vaccine (Pandemrix)
can have it, but when ? This wave comes earlier, and when the
wave is over, then it's probably not needed until next year.

5 months since start of a pandemic to vaccinate the population,
that was the plan, that's what we were told.
Now it seems that the vaccination will have no serious impact
on the wave. Maybe 10% or 20% of infections will be saved,
do we have estimates ? They are reluctant to give us such
estimates.
Although we gained ~5 weeks by the surprising delay,
which may be caused by rhinovirus or Herbstferien

we have no info how many people get it despite being vaccinated.
we have no info/estimates, how many people got it twice in USA,Mexico,
England,Spain

thee data and estimates presumably exist
Sweden gave an info about side-effects of Pandemrix on 29.Oct,
now they allow direct online reporting of side-effects, but no report
to us yet.

we do not know yet how it mainly transmits (they could ask the people ?!?!? could do some tests)
