Influenza-Like Illness levels from Kaiser Permanente for the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area increased slightly from 1.04 to 1.1%.

School ILI Absenteeism Surveillance showed a slight increase over the past several weeks. Specifically, fever, cough, diarrhea and vomiting are being noted.
One new adult death was reported for the week ending 2/27. A cumulative number of 69 deaths (12 pediatric and 57 adult) have been reported this season. Of the 69 deaths 84% had underlying conditions. (One death last season) for a total of 70.

For the week ending 3/13 there were two confirmed influenza-associated hospitalizations. Three cases from the previous week were reported increasing the cumulative total to 2,029 hospitalizations from 55 counties.
Influenza activity remained at a low level similar to recent weeks, based primarily on hospitalizations, the level of influenza-like activity and sentinel laboratory testing data.
?For the week ending 3/20 there were no new confirmed influenza-associated hospitalizations. The cumulative total remains at 2,029 hospitalizations from 55 counties.
?Influenza-Like Illness levels from Kaiser Permanente for the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area increased slightly from 0.76% to 0.96%.
?Sentinel labs (15/18 reporting) tested 284 specimens and 4.9% were positive. There was one new specimen that tested positive by PCR for influenza virus A (H1N1) at the state laboratory.
?School ILI Absenteeism Surveillance has continued to stay fairly stable.
