KALISPELL - A Flathead County man is the latest to have died from the swine flu virus, the 19th such death in Montana and one of an estimated 10,000 deaths nationwide.
According to public health officials, the 63-year-old man died within the past few weeks; neither his name nor his date of death have been released.
"We waited to make the announcement until we had the autopsy report back," said county health officer Joe Russell. "We want to be very sensitive to his privacy."
The cause of death is listed as pneumonia.
Russell said the man had no known underlying health problems, which goes against the general trend in Montana.
