Topekan Infected With H1N1 Dies
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment announced Tuesday the death of a Topeka man who was infected with the 2009 H1N1 influenza A virus.
Story 0 Comments Font Size: TOPEKA, Kansas - A 60-year-old man from the Topeka metropolitan area has died from infection with the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) announced Tuesday. This death brings the total number of confirmed deaths from the pandemic strain statewide to 28.
The man’s infection was confirmed in the KDHE laboratory on February 4, 2010, and his death reported to KDHE on February 22. The man had underlying health conditions that placed him at greater risk for severe complications of influenza.
