    On third Ministry of Health announced Vietnam continues to appear two more patients infected with H5N1.

    Earlier on 26/2 Ministry of Health confirmed the first case of death in 2010 by avian influenza H5N1 infection.

    About two new cases by Department of Preventive Health and Environment (Ministry of Health) including two patients (one in Khanh Hoa in Tuyen Quang a) are related directly / indirectly to sick poultry / death unknown causes.

    In Vietnam, this is a little cases of H5N1 avian influenza infection but still pull through. In 2008 there are five cases of influenza are the fifth death.

    Patients in Khanh Hoa is a 3-year-old woman residing in Ninh Than, Ninh Hoa District of Khanh Hoa province. Patients starting on January 27, 2010 patients with high fever or runny nose 390C. On January 28 the patient was taken to the hospital examination and Ninh Hoa District was diagnosed Acute upper respiratory tract; patients have been taking product samples for testing. Test results on February 12 at Nha Trang Pasteur Institute for a positive result for influenza A/H5N1.

    Present patients have been treated and healthy recovery. The epidemiological survey showed that people in the family and no one was around the same disease must not be sick poultry / mass death families raising chickens, but patients must not be sick chicken / death . Nearly a month in ostrich farm (how a patient's nearly 1 km) with ostrich phenomenon unexplained death.

    As announced on February 25, 2010 the Department of Animal Health - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development today in Ninh Hoa District and Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province on avian influenza is not 21 days.

    Patients in Tuyen Quang are women age 17 residing in Tan Son Duong district Movement Tuyen Quang [xã Tân Trào, huyện Sơn Dương, tỉnh Tuyên Quang.]. Also people need to make sure food is cooked to drink boiling when symptoms of fever or difficulty breathing to the nearest medical facility for diagnosis and timely treatment.

    (AFP) - A young woman 17 years old (stay in Tan Trao, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang) have been confirmed infected with influenza A/H5N1 virus. We have the patient critical attack, not breathing machine and still continue to monitor general hospital in Son Duong district.

    As reported by the Department of Health Tuyen Quang, the patient's onset of this disease on February 19, 2010 with symptoms of high fever 38.9 o C, cough, sore throat. Soon after, the patient is brought to treatment at clinics Tan movement, and then forwarded to the General Hospital Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province on February 24, 2010. Here, suspected influenza A/H5N1 infected patients should be treated with Tamiflu as the treatment regimen for suspected influenza A/H5N1 ca.

    Currently, the state can say the patient has the critical attack, only mild shortness of breath, not breathing machine, the image X - ray chest and good progress is being managed, treated in district general hospitals Son Duong.

    Epidemiological investigation showed that about 10 days ago in a patient with sick chickens occur, unexplained death and patients with sick chickens involved destruction, death of the family.

    Previously, 26 / 2, Department of preventive medicine as an official confirmation of female patients (age 38) died from influenza A/H5N1.

    Thus, as of now, there have been two cases of influenza A/H5N1 infections recorded since the New Year, accumulated from 2003 to now, our country recorded 114 cases, 58 cases of death.

        Tuyen Quang confirms one A/H5N1 fatality

        A 17-year old patient in Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province was confirmed to have been infected with A/H5N1 virus, announced the Ministry of Health.

        She was diagnosed with the disease on February 19 with symptoms of high fever, coughing and sore throat. The patient was treated in the general consulting-room in Tan Trao district, then moved to general hospital in Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province.

        She tested positive with A/H5N1 flu virus on February 27, following the results of the National Institute for Hygiene and Epidemiology.

        Ten days previously, in the patient?s house, chickens were sick and died without a clear reason, she was confirmed to have joined in destroying those chickens.

        Since the beginning of this year, Vietnam has had three patients who tested positive with A/H5N1 flu virus, one dead.

          Bird flu has infected a young woman in the northern province of Tuyen Quang, the third case this year in Vietnam.

          On March 1, the Ministry of Health announced a 17-year-old girl had tested positive for the bird flu virus in Tuyen Quang province in Son Duong district.

          The girl had experienced high fever, cough and sore throat on February 19, and then was treated in the district General Hospital on February 24.

          Doctors suspected she had bird flu and gave her Tamiflu. Experts said chickens at the girl?s house had died suddenly ten days before and the girl had destroyed the whole flock.

          The country has reported three cases of avian flu since January 1, including one death ? a woman in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang.

          Recent outbreaks in poultry flocks in the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau have caused alarm in the delta, so the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Diep Kinh Tan held talks with the provincial leaders of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu on March 1.

          The outbreaks occurred in Ca Mau town and districts of Tran Van Thoi and U Minh in late February.

          Tests showed the chickens were positive for the disease and around 5,500 birds were destroyed.

          On the same day, the deputy chairman of Khanh Hoa?s People?s Committee, Nguyen Chien Thang, announced two outbreaks of bird flu in district Ninh Hoa and Van Ninh.

          Waterfowls have died in scattered farms in the two districts. Most of samples tested positive for the disease. Vets have disinfected the areas and killed around 9,378 animal.

            HANOI - The Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed that a 17-year-old girl living in the northern upland province of Tuyen Quang died last Friday after she had been diagnosed with bird flu. She is the third person to have contracted the virus, another whom died last week.



            The girl, who lived in Tan Trao Commune in Don Duong District, began feeling ill on February 19. She was admitted to Son Duong Hospital where her fever and cough were treated with Tamiflu.



            The Central Epidemiology Institute confirmed she tested positive for the H5N1 virus. A study conducted by the institute found that the patient had raised chickens at her home and several of the fowls had died of unknown causes recently.



            The National Preventive Medicine and Environment Department reported that since the beginning of the year, Vietnam has had three fatal bird flu cases.
