وقالت الوزارة في بيان لها أن الحالة 104 لرجل من محافظ القليوبية دخل مستشفى النيل للتأمين الصحى يوم 27 فبراير وهو يعانى من ارتفاع فى درجة الحرارة وكحة ورشح والتهاب صدر مزمن والتهاب رئوي ايسر عقب تعرضه لطيور يشتبه فى اصابتها بمرض انفلونزا الطيور.
The ministry said in a statement that the situation of 104 men from the Governor of the Hospital of the Nile Qalyubia of health insurance on 27 February, which was suffering from high temperature, cough, runny nose and chronic inflammation of the issued and pneumonia after being easier to birds suspected of being infected with bird flu.
و أعطي للمصاب عقار التاميفلو على الفور وتم تحويله الى مستشفى صدر العباسية بالقاهرة وحالته الصحية حرجة.

the emohp released a report on bird flu thru the 28th february 2010
case number 101 and 102 have been added to the recoverd list for the cairo governorate.
The current report increased the total of suspect cases by 15 to 11,510
only one of the 15 are being added to the totals for today. based on the report it is case number 104.
i can only tell case number 103 was added as positive case prior to the 28th
The governorate # 18 Qalyubia Governorate (Arabic: القليوبية)
The total suspect case count is 488 which is and increase of 2 since the previous report that was dated for the 23rd. the total positive case number increased by 2 to 9. no deaths are reported directly under this governorate, only one case of recovery is listed, Two cases are listed as currently undergoing hospital treatment in the governorate.
So case number 103 and 104 are confirmed by this ministry of health report. which is attached below.

another thing i noticed for the first time when going over this information again, is it only took one day to test then confirm the results instead of two days as in the past.

the mohp released another report today for h5n1 its only for through the 5th of march 2010.
this report increased the total suspect cases by four to 11,519 with one suspect case being reported for the fifth of march,in the governorate number 22 Gharbia (Arabic: الغربية)
the governorate has a total of 1308 suspects since 2006, from this eight are show as being positive cases. no deaths are reported under this governorate,two cases are recorded as recovered cases.
it still shows one case in the hospital in the Cairo governorate on the fifth of march most likely this is case 104.
the amount of the new suspect cases. is very low for the amount of new positive cases they discovered this year so far.

وأكدت وزارة الصحة أن التاريخ المرضى للحالة يؤكد دخوله مستشفى النيل للتأمين الصحى يوم 27 فبراير الحالى وهو يعانى من ارتفاع فى درجة الحرارة وسعال ورشح والتهاب صدر مزمن، بالإضافة إلى التهاب رئوى أيسر وذلك عقب تعرضه لطيور يشتبه فى إصابتها بمرض أنفلونزا الطيور، وقد تم إعطائه عقار "التاميفلو"، وتحويله إلى مستشفى صدر العباسية بالقاهرة وحالته الصحية حرجة.

yes its the fifth fatal case this year based on the collective information.
The ministry of health has released a report for the 6th of march 2010.
it add one new suspect case for the same date with no new positive cases being shown within this report. the suspect case total as of the 6th, March is 11,520.
case number 104 was the only case which was shown as still under going treatment in the previous report within any of the 29 governorates.
it does show under the Cairo governorate, one new fatality being added for the 6th. which raised the total deaths for Cairo to seventeen cases.the total of recovered cases remains at 56 with a total of only four positive cases for this governorate. the total suspect case count for the governorate has been increased by two cases over the last three days. none of which are shown as testing positive.
the report includes the following totals cumulative since 2006.
104 total positive cases
31 fatal
73 recovered
Farmer's graph in post #24 is interesting. Although the numbers are small, there was a peak in H5N1 infections in Egypt in May, 2009, just about the time that first wave of H1N1 was occurring. Perhaps just a coincidence.
