He said bird flu usually emerges during the cold weather in January, but the disease should not be as intense as the previous years this time because many people have become more conscious of its dangers.
People have been asked to report to the officials once they spot any sign of bird flu such as chickens or birds that have fallen ill or died abnormally in their households. The dead poultry should be tightly sealed and it should be delivered to the Livestock Department for further research.
