    MADRID, 25 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

    The incidence rate of influenza in Spain is 113.69 per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the National Epidemiological Surveillance Network of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, in the last two weeks, the percentage of detections of influenza B virus has passed the virus type A.

    This follows from the last issue of this agency under the Ministry of Science and Innovation on the week of 13 to 19 February, which shows how 59 percent of the influenza virus detections were made of type B viral

    In fact, this virus is prevalent in over half the country (Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Baleares, Ceuta, Madrid, Navarra, Basque Country and La Rioja).

    As for the virus, present in 41 percent of the detections made, 90 percent of them belong to the pandemic subtype A/H1Nl.

    However, the influenza incidence is still experiencing a gradual decline since the first weeks of January will detect the peak of the epidemic wave of the 2010-2011 season, when detected 239.04 cases per 100,000 population.

    This decline in influenza activity is also reflected in a decrease in incidence rates in all age groups, especially those under age 15.

    For communities, the most affected in the last week has been Catalonia, with 201.2 cases per 100,000 population, followed by Canarias (178.1), Extremadura (174), Andalucia (167.6), Castilla-La Mancha (136 , 3), Aragon (133.4), Castilla y Le?n (128.3), Melilla (120.6) and Asturias (117.9).

    Already below the national average are Cantabria (91.8), Baleares (84.5), Comunidad de Madrid (80.8), Ceuta (80.1), Valencia (55.3), Navarre (45 9) and La Rioja (36.6), while Galicia and Murcia data are not specified.

    As the number of serious cases in the Carlos III were 1,089 reported serious cases of influenza confirmed hospitalized fifteen communities so far this season, while the death toll rises to 112.
